President’s Letter

First and foremost, we hope this email finds you and your families safe and well. This COVID virus is effecting all of us in everything we do.

As you probably know, Thomas Kuruc resigned as the President of our Club in early January due to health concerns. The Board of Trustees has carefully reviewed our Club Bylaws and has acted to reorganize our Board as follows: John Nunziato has been elected to the position of Club President, Jim Conover has been elected to the position of Vice President and Charles Rueger has been elected as a Trustee (to fill the vacancy created when Jim Conover accepted appointment to VP).

Our winter work has included putting together a budget which allows us to provide the beach community our Members expect, while maintaining strong fiscal responsibility. This has been a difficult task considering the uncertainty in predicting how the virus will impact our beach Season. The Board has set a budget which will support a ‘normal’ 11 week Season. This conservative approach will provide our Beach Club the funds to operate through this year assuming a fully guarded beach for the entire Summer Season. If the virus impacts operations of the beach, the guards, etc. the funds remaining at the end of this year will be re-appropriated when preparing the 2021 budget to offset expenses.

The annual dues for each Seacrest lot for 2020 is $740.00. For lots on the ocean side, please add a beach lease fee of $10.00 for a total of $750.00 OCEAN SIDE. For lots on the bay side (between the highways), please add a beach lease fee of $20.00 for a total of $760.00 BAY SIDE. During these difficult times, The Board understands that individuals may have financial challenges in paying the dues. If you wish to discuss an alternative payment plan, please e-mail me and we can make arrangements.

We are reviewing methods for holding our Spring Meeting (May 23, 2020) which conform to the Governor’s Executive Orders on gatherings. Pursuant to our Club Bylaws, Article X, section 2, Amendments to the Bylaws may be discussed and proposed at the Spring meeting, with voting on the Amendments at the Fall meeting.

Feel free to contact myself or any Board members (through the Seacrest website) if you have questions or concerns which we may be able to help you with.

Thank you for your support and flexibility during these uncharted times.

Sincerely,
John Nunziato
President, Seacrest Beach Club
