Due to some unanticipated delays, the road contractor will be at Seacrest during the week of July 10-14 to re-grade the roads east of Route 35 and to perform related maintenance tasks.
The work on Abbey Lane, Basra Lane, Cart Lane, Murray Lane, and Seacrest Drive is expected to be completed in 2 days, and will include:
- Re-crowning and cutting of gutters to promote drainage off of the roads;
- Excavation, re-compacting, and replacement of new surface stone at the entrance on Abbey Lane (including the 1st 50 feet of roadway along Abbey Lane from Kittiwake Ave.);
- Removal of soft sand at corners of Abbey/Murray, Basra/Cart and Basra/Seacrest roads; and
- Re-grading of roadways to improve run-off and drainage.
Everyone is advised that the Abbey Lane entrance will be closed to all traffic while the work is completed. Please use the Seacrest Drive entry as an alternative while the re-grading is being done.
