Spring 2020 Meeting Update

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.  I’m sure we are all looking forward to getting to the beaches and enjoying the summer.  Toms River is planning to officially open their guarded beaches Memorial Day weekend.  Our neighboring beach clubs are looking to open with guards in mid to late June per their policies.  Our Beach is set to open on Saturday June 20, 2020, for an 11 week season.

As the Season approaches, we have our Club’s Spring Meeting which is typically held on the Saturday before Memorial Day, per our Bylaws.  As we must abide by the Governor’s Executive Orders prohibiting gatherings of 10 person or more, we find that the meeting must take another form.

The Board is currently studying options for our Spring Meeting, including virtual web based meetings including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and others.  There should be no need for concern about computer cameras, microphones, internet connections, etc. as whatever meeting structure we choose, you will be able to call in by telephone.  We understand that the internet infrastructure of the barrier island and the computers/wiring of our beach houses may not be optimal for virtual meetings.

With this said, the meeting traditionally held on the Saturday before Memorial Day will be POSTPONED UNTIL  JUNE, 2020, we are currently targeting Saturday June 13, 2020.  This will allow the Board to select a platform on which to hold our meeting, test drive this system, and have our webmaster available to facilitate the proceedings.  Our webmaster is currently doing this daily for other Beaches, Towns, and businesses and his availability is key to the selection of a date.  We will confirm the date of the meeting by posting on our website and by email.

I look forward to seeing everyone and I want to thank you in advance  for your flexibility as we find our way to a working solution.
